Emotional Freedom Techniques
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), developed by Stanford-trained engineer Gary Craig in the 1990’s, has emerged as the most widely used energy therapy today. EFT consists of a simple routine of tapping on the body’s acupressure meridian points, and although it can be easily self-adminstered, working with a qualified experienced EFT therapist on more complex issues, can facilitate impressive results.
EFT provides powerful tools for personal development and for reaching those goals that have eluded you in the past.
Over 70 years ago Einstein brought us his famous equation E=mc2. Simply stated this means that everything, including our bodies, is composed of energy. This is so widely accepted today that not one scientist on the planet is able to disagree with this statement!
However, until relatively recently, this important knowledge has gone unnoticed by the psychotherapy profession. This is true even though energy related procedures have now been clinically demonstrated thousands of times to dramatically reduce the sting of traumatic memories, grief, anger, phobias and almost any other emotional ailment you can name.
Further more, as a procedure, EFT is usually rapid, long lasting and a relatively gently process - one that so often works where nothing else will.
And whilst not all procedures do everything for everyone, relative newcomers to EFT achieve noticeable improvement or complete cessation of their problem about 50% of the time - working with an accomplished practitioner on complex issues is however recommended. And those who master the ‘art of delivery’ enjoy success over 80% of the time - and even on such intense issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), phobias, rape and grief.
The main idea to take away here is that whilst you are facing a challenging issue, you are NOT ‘mentally blocked’ - rather you are ‘energy blocked’. And this is a totally different and refreshing way of viewing the human system. To suggest that an important cause of emotional problems can be found, purely, in the disruption of the subtle energies that circulate throughout our bodies is indeed a different take on our problems.
To also realise that when we can stimulate these subtle energies, by tapping on them with our fingertips, the result is the achievement of new levels of emotional freedom is truly powerful. The name then speaks for itself - Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT for short).
Interestingly, the results aren’t just limited to emotional issues - as you can appreciate, bringing relief to someone’s anger, fear or trauma also has the additional benefit of bringing relief to physical ailments.
EFT can be used to relieve people’s headaches (even migraines) carpal tunnel, lactose intolerance, joint pain, stomach disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, asthma and over 100 other physical ailments.
Impressive results have been achieved with anxiety, depression and abuse - as well as with addictions and weight loss. EFT is also ruthless in neutralising useless forms of guilt, fear, trauma and anger and other self-doubts that weigh us down heavily - all the while keeping us from becoming the people we would most like to be.
EFT is a really painless way to emotional freedom, and if you have been struggling, and achieving little or no success with other therapies, it is worthwhile remembering that EFT often works where nothing else will - so as Gary Craig always says in his free weekly newsletters ‘try it with everything! . . .
